Seasons at Nordhus Lodge

Some places you understand better in pictures. This is a look around Nordhus Lodge and the eight wooded acres it sits on — the reasons we chose this quiet stretch of Minnesota's North Shore.

The lodge was built for gathering. From the air you can see how it works: the decks stacking toward the lake view, the fire pit ringed with chairs, and the forest closing in on every side for privacy.

Inside, the light does the work. Big windows pull the outdoors in; hickory floors and high ceilings keep it warm and uncluttered — room for three generations to spread out and still find each other at dinner.
